Custom plantation shutters in Laguna Woods

Laguna Woods Village is the 55-plus community next door to our Lake Forest factory, and we've been installing shutters here since the village was still routinely called Leisure World. Over 500 homes in the Village have Golden West shutters in them, across The Towers, the Gate 11 mid-century homes, the Gate 14 condos, and the manors. Many are on their second or third generation of owners, which means we've been back to fix or extend the original installation more than once. The original orders are still in our files.

The conversations we have with Laguna Woods residents are different from the rest of the South County market. Style matters less than ease of use. Heavier louvers that close cleanly with one hand are worth more than the thinnest visible frame. The 3.5-inch louver in basswood, in white, is the most-asked-for combination here for a reason: it's the easiest to wipe down, the easiest to tilt, and the most forgiving when a panel needs adjustment.

The Village is five minutes from the Lake Forest factory, and we run the installation crew the same way we run a single-home job: arrive on schedule, protect floors and walls, hang panels to the actual opening, adjust on the spot, walk through every panel before leaving.
